Allergic rhinitis: What are its causes

Allergic Rhinitis is a condition which is caused by allergic reactions to specific allergens. Whilst there are a variety of allergens which can trigger allergic rhinitis, the most common ones are pet hair, dust, and pollen. Let’s take a little look at why allergic rhinitis occurs, and perhaps more importantly, how the condition can be dealt with.

Allergic rhinitis is caused by an ‘over-sensitive’ immune system. In most people the body will not regard allergens as harmful. It will just ‘process’ them without too many issues. However, in those that suffer from allergic rhinitis the immune system is kicked into overdrive when an allergen enters the system. The body will start to produce too many antibodies which can cause the symptoms of an allergy. A variety of allergens can set off the condition.

The most popular ones however are:

• House and dust mites. These are perhaps the biggest cause of allergic rhinitis. This is because there are so many floating about our home at all times and it can be pretty difficult not to ‘run’ into them in your day to day life. Regular cleaning of your home is the only way that you are going to be able to deal with these. You may also want to carry out a deep clean of the property from time to time.

• Pet hair is a big cause. If you have pets then you may find that you suffer from allergy symptoms from time to time. Don’t worry though. You won’t need to get rid of your pet. Instead you are going to need to carry out a good bit of domestic cleaning.

• Pollen is a big factor in the summer, although it is very rare that this problem is going to affect you in your home. As you head outside though be prepared to be overwhelmed by symptoms of an allergy!

So how can you deal with allergic rhinitis?

Well, sadly most people will never be able to cure themselves of the condition completely. However, there are a number of things that you can do to keep the symptoms at bay. One of the best methods is to carry out a domestic cleaning.

When you opt for a domestic cleaning from a professional company they will work hard to eliminate allergens in the air and on surfaces. Most of these will be impossible to remove on your own using conventional cleaning techniques. Now, they won’t be able to remove everything, but they should be able to remove enough of the allergens to not cause too many issues.

If you suffer from particularly severe allergic rhinitis then I suggest that you have a one off deep clean of your home as soon as possible. Experts suggest that you should then have a further clean every couple of months. If you do this then you will find that your symptoms either disappear completely or not as severe. I suggest that you work with a company that provides custom cleaning services so you can have a package tailored to your specific household.
